About Maurice

"Homes and families are key reasons we work. Our homes are our sanctuaries, and are one of the largest transactions we will ever make. Real estate transactions can be complicated. That's why some clients call me "the Interpreter," others call me "the Puzzle Master." Either way, I feel it is a great responsibility to help clients with one of the most important sales or purchases in a lifetime. San Francisco real estate is my life. There is a reason many of my clients are repeat customers. I pay attention to every detail and work with a highly reliable team who get the job done the right way -- the first time.

I was born and raised in San Francisco so my  education, from kindergarten through university, was right here. After getting a BA in business administration and real estate, I advanced from holding  a selling license, to becoming a full-on real estate broker in 1983. After decades in the business handling every type of transaction you can imagine, I am intimately familiar with the local ordinances and State laws regarding disclosures and  real estate transfers in this City.

That's not all. I come by my passion for this business honestly. My dad, Michael Joseph Dolan, started our familly company and we grew up talking about real estate  at the dinner table. Dad instilled the guiding principle -- "We will offer our clients service with integrity" -- which stands the test of time to this day.

How may I help you?

My dad, Michael Joseph Dolan, migrated across the Atlantic through Ellis Island from Clones in Monahan County Ireland right after World War II. The harsh east coast weather convinced him to continue west to the Golden State of California, so he headed to San Francisco.

Dad first sold religious magazine subscriptions and insurance to make ends meet. But he came from parents who had always helped people  (his mom was the mid-wife in Clones and his dad was the train conductor). He wanted to do the kind of work that helped people too, so he got a real estate license in the 60's.

With a touch of an Irish brogue,  a gregarious personality and a love of San Francisco,  this was a good fit. People liked him and he liked the business.  Dad worked for other brokers for a while, but then decided to make a go of it himself, launching Michael Dolan Real Estate in 1983 and never looked back.

Dad was still helping people with their real estate needs until he was 91 years old. I have a tough act to follow, but I'm up for the challenge.
